› Hubs & Club Development

SP has established 4 Regional Hubs and will continue to develop the Hub structures & their environments as safe & enjoyable for young athletes, encouraging participation & engaging parents & coaches in the development pathway.

These Hubs are currently located in Aberdeen, Scottish Borders, Fife and Stirling and it is also our aim during 2019 – 2020 to identify a location for a 5th Hub.

The focus of each Hub will be, through the local Co-ordinators, to arrange training and coaching sessions, events and competitions and thrpugh implementation of our communications strategy, ensure opportunities for engagement in activities are widely disseminated, including contact with local schools, Active Schools & teachers. The programme for each Hub for 2019 – 2020 will be:

Regional Hubs

Training / coaching schedule as in 2018 – 2019; deliver competitions & camps as per schedule; support the development pathway & create the environment for progression; talent id & promotion to the DG; widen the outreach programme to new partners; identify opportunities for local investment; develop & formalise the agreed Hub committee structure & function(s); provide access to kit, facilities & equipment & increase SP membership.

Establish the competition & coaching programme for the year; & complete banking & financial reporting arrangements by end Q1 2019 – 2020; develop the outreach programme with links to schools & Active Schools across the region by end Q2 2019 – 2020; implement comms strategy to raise awareness & participation & increase SP membership.

Consolidate the existing programme of engagement into a more formal programme of delivery throughout the year; contribute to the talent id and possible progression to the DG; promote participation in SP events & support athletes progress through the pathway; implement comms strategy to raise awareness & participation & increase SP membership.
