Return to Play and Competition (Phase 3)

Pentathlon GB (PGB) has now confirmed a further postponement of competitions and events to 30 September 2020. It is further expected that any return will not be in place until at least after the school’s half term break.

As such Scottish Pentathlon will fall in line with this position. As and when we do return to events the focus will be on laser run (outdoors) as restrictions remain in place for access to pools, sports halls and Salles.

It is hope that virtual and regional laser run events may be staged in late October / November and once the situation is confirmed with PGB, including likely time windows, we will provide more detail.

Further, PGB has also confirmed the cancellation of the Schools Biathlon and National Biathlon Championships.

Confirmation of these decisions may be found on the PGB web site

Additional information and the rationale behind the decisions is also explained.

This page also has links to the various risk assessment templates. In addition to the sport-specific risk assessments, it is also advised that clubs/coaches complete COVID-19 risk assessment which cover general
aspects of sessions that will apply to any session being delivered.

The guidance here in Scotland for coaching (outdoors) is as set out in the Scottish Government / sportscotland guidance for Phase 3

A further update from Government is expected this Thursday (20th). Should there be any change or move to Phase 4 guidance will be updated together with the relevant changes to guidance Scottish Pentathlon is also working with PGB resources for health and hygiene for training and coaching
sessions and an update on these will be shared in due course.
